Resource-by-resource, the amount and variety of geospatial information available via the Commons is growing! Not only are established publishers continuing to add resources, but nine new publishers have joined the effort this past year. We'd like to extend a big welcome to:
- Legislative GIS Office
- Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State
- Minnesota Board of Animal Health
- Minnesota Valley Transit Authority
- Itasca County
- Ramsey County
- Rice County
- St. Louis County
- Waseca County
The collaborative nature of the Commons is becoming more apparent as our growing organizations include state agencies, a regional agency and local governments. The data topics and formats are also continually becoming more diverse. For example, the Legislative GIS Office and the Secretary of State are expanding the Commons offerings to include more administrative boundaries, such as House, Senate, Congressional and voting districts, with demographic and election data in the works. The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority provides a specialized data format for tracking bus schedules, and counties are providing detailed foundational data such as parcels.
To find a list of resources available for each publisher, select the Organizations Tab of the Commons. To get updates from specific publishers, see the instructions for following a resource or a publisher.
Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the publishers who have helped us share over 600 datasets, applications, maps, and services!
