Transportation Analysis Zones (TAZ) 2000 for External Counties

Transportation analysis zones are subdivisions of geographical areas that are delineated for land use and travel analysis purposes. This dataset covers 13 counties outside of the seven Twin Cities metro counties. They are the Minnesota counties of Chisago, Goodhue, Isanti, Le Sueur, Mc Leod, Mille Lacs, Rice, Sherburne, Sibley and Wright; and the Wisconsin counties of Pierce, Polk and St. Croix.

dsPurpose The transportation analysis zones layer was developed as a means to compile, analyze and exhibit demographic data and data related to capacity to produce travel. The primary analysis is the magnitude of tripmaking created within each TAZ and the interaction of these trips between the various zones within the region.
