Water Quality Stressors Identified

This data was created as a result of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency’s (MPCA) biological stressor identification process (SID). Biological stressors are determined after a reach has been listed as impaired for aquatic life. Stressors are determined to inform the WRAPS (Watershed Restoration and Protection Strategy) developed by the MPCA for each major watershed. The MPCA follows the CADDIS (Causal Analysis/Diagnosis Decision Information System) protocol which includes EPA’s Stressor Identification Process, and other guidance to understand and identify the most probably cause of biological impairment.

dsPurpose These data are intended to be used for planning, informational, and cartographic purposes related to general high-level information about the findings of the stressor identification process. These data can be used to aid prioritization efforts and inform both interagency and public inquiries as it relates to stressors to the fish and macroinvertebrates in Minnesota’s surface waters.
