Those of you who have been following the Geospatial Commons know that we are currently in a migration phase, meaning our current focus is on adding resources to the site: data sets, services, applications, and maps. During the week of December 8, we topped 150 resource records as part of this migration. Over half of those resources are from the DNR, so we expect continuous growth as we integrate other organizations who have large catalogs of published data.

The resulting organizational diversity on the Commons is particularly important when it comes to foundational data sets from authoritative sources. A case in point was added just this week: a statewide roads data set from MnDOT. This data set joins hundreds of others from nine different organizations in building out the Commons as the "go to" site for users and publishers of geospatial resources in Minnesota. We hope you'll agree that both of these milestones further that goal.
