MNIT staff partnering with the Department of Education (MDE) have published three ArcGIS Server Web Mapping Services to the Esri ArcGIS Online (AGOL) platform. These will replace several that are planned for retirement on January 15, 2020.
MDE encourages AGOL users, web map developers, and GIS practitioners that previously used these services to reconfigure their applications against the newly deployed services as soon as possible.
All three new services are now discoverable here on the Commons. Links in the bullets below can be leveraged to reconfigure applications as necessary:
- School District Boundaries: previously published as the first of four layers in the “Districts” service, now replaced with the layer in the Minnesota School District Boundaries 2020 service.
- School Attendance Areas: previously published as two of four layers in the “Districts” service, now replaced with the layer in the Minnesota School Attendance Areas 2020 service.
- School Program Locations: previously published as five layers in the “SchoolsAll” service, now replaced with the layer in the Minnesota School Program Locations 2020 service.
In future years, new versions of these services will be published while leaving prior year editions available for a predetermined amount of time. For more information, contact MDE GIS Coordinator Mike Dolbow.
