In the past two months, the Minnesota Geospatial Commons has been honored with recognition in two national award programs. First, the Center for Digital Government included us in their Inaugural Goverment Experience Awards, under the category of "Government to Government Experience". This award recognizes "the achievements and best practices of states, cities and counties that have gone to the web and beyond to radically improve the experience of government and push the boundaries of how citizen services are delivered.”
Next, the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) named us the 2017 State IT Recognition Award winner in the "Information Communications Technology Innovations" category. These awards honor initiatives in state government that use technology to solve problems, connect citizens to government, streamline services, and optimize results.
Since collaboration is essential to the success of the Geospatial Commons, we'd like to thank all of our publishers who have created content, and the organizations and citizens who use the data to pursue their missions. Finally, we'd like to thank the Minnesota IT Services Communications team who helped with our NASCIO nomination and created the short video below for the NASCIO awards ceremony. Thank you!
