The theme of "Free and Open Data" appears in many of the sessions at this year's GIS/LIS Conference in Duluth. Attendees will find us presenting, listening, and supporting sessions on becoming a Geospatial Commons publisher, county data sharing policies, open data portals and clear licenses for open data. Many of the data resources available on the Commons are also covered in depth, including crowdsourcing development of the Minnesota buffer map and a panel on the future of the state's LiDAR elevation and hydrography data.

For more information, see the GIS/LIS Consortium's 26th Annual Conference and Workshops and their preliminary program.
