dsPurpose Emergency Service Zones are used by public safety agencies as a first tool for identifying which emergency service agencies should be dispatched for a given address or geographic area and to determine routing for 9-1-1 calls. It was created by the Metropolitan Emergency Services Board in cooperation with the PSAPs of the 10-county Twin Cities metropolitan area and their emergency response agencies.
