Waseca County

Waseca County, located south of the Twin Cities metro area, is predominately a farming community boasting some of the best farmland in the State. Established February 27, 1857 it was named after a Dakota word meaning “rich” as a reference to the soils. Waseca is one of seven southern Minnesota counties that have no forest ecosystems consisting mostly of prairie.
