API Developer Resources
The Minnesota Geospatial Commons framework, CKAN, has a built-in REST-ful API. This means developers can build searches from their own code and get information back directly from the Minnesota Geospatial Commons site.
The API will provide opportunities for other organizations to build applications based on the Minnesota Geospatial Commons functionality. For example, an organization might choose to host their data on the Commons and also show a list of their data on their organization's website. This organization's website list could be dynamically generated using the Commons CKAN API so that the organization simply needs to keep their dataset information updated on the Minnesota Geospatial Commons to update both sites.
